At Purple Knights, we believe in the power of community and resilience. Established to serve the victims of Hurricane Helene, our mission is to help rebuild lives and restore hope to those whose homes and communities were devastated by the floods. We stand as a beacon of strength, offering support to those in need and working tirelessly to ensure that no one is left behind in the journey to recovery.

Our Work

Purple Knights is committed to providing relief and support to individuals and families affected by Hurricane Helene. We understand that recovery goes beyond immediate aid—it’s about rebuilding homes, communities, and lives. Our goal is to ensure that every person impacted has access to the resources and assistance they need to recover and rebuild.

How We Started

Our work started by providing a range of services designed to meet the needs of hurricane survivors in Western North Carolina:

Housing Assistance: We help rebuild homes, providing resources for repairs and reconstruction.
Community Support: Our foundation collaborates with local partners to restore vital community infrastructure, such as schools, community centers, and public spaces.
Emergency Relief: From food and water to clothing and medical supplies, we ensure that basic needs are met in the aftermath of disaster.
Recovery: Beyond immediate relief, we stay involved for the long haul, helping communities recover and build resilience against future disasters.

Our Current Work

Our current work is focused on serving the needs of the Triangle area of North Carolina which includes the following services:

Emergency Relief: We provide immediate aid, including food, shelter, and medical assistance, to communities affected by disasters or crises worldwide.
Food Assistance: We provide essential access to nutritious meals and groceries for individuals and families facing food insecurity, fostering healthier communities.
Community Support: We provide support with job training, SNAP assistance, referrals, and specialized programs for veterans, women, children, and seniors.
Healthy Market: We provide free groceries and essential food items to individuals and families in need, helping to alleviate hunger and promote well-being in the community.

Our Expanded Vision

The Purple Knights Garden will provide healthy choices for community members visiting the Healthy Market.

Community Garden: Through the garden and farming education it will give access and opportunities for students, volunteers and community members to experience and build sustainable access to healthy foods.
Collaborations: It will provide an opportunity for farms, local organizations, and businesses to build and grow in our own communities, promoting collaborations beyond our life time.
